Training and Qualifications. Having passed stage one and two in 94/95 I then went on to Bristol University to Study the Diploma in Deaf Studies/Interpreting, for two years (1995-1997). I left Bristol University as a Registered Trainee Interpreter having completed CACDP Stage Three in March 1997. The Diploma completed I then 'topped' that with some individual study which meant my Dip He became a BA Hons. (1999). Being a glutton for punishment I then 'topped' that up too by studying for a City & Guilds Licentiateship (a portfolio based assessment) in "Sign Language Interpreting in Practice". (2000) I attended the "Communication Through Touch" training course organised by Sense. This taught Sign Language Interpreters how to use "Visual Frame" and "Hands On" signing for Deaf people who have Usher Syndrome or other visual impairments. |
